Privacy policy.

LATO Studio (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe, in line with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. What we collect

When you submit our contact form or reach out via email or WhatsApp, we collect:

• Your full name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (if provided)
• The content of your message

2. Why we collect it

Solely to respond to your enquiry and discuss potential design work. We do not use your details for marketing, do not sell them, and do not share them with third parties for advertising.

3. How long we keep it

Enquiry data is retained for up to 12 months after our last interaction, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. Active client correspondence may be retained longer for tax and contractual compliance.

4. Where it’s stored

Form submissions are processed on our own server and delivered straight to our Google Workspace inbox — we don’t use a third-party form service that retains your data. To keep the form free of spam and abuse, submissions are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly CAPTCHA that does not track you or use your data for advertising. Analytics data (anonymous, cookieless) is processed by Plausible Analytics. All are reputable services with strong privacy practices.

5. Cookies

This site does not use tracking cookies. Plausible Analytics is intentionally cookieless. Your browser may store technical cookies required for the site to function (e.g. font caching), but these contain no personal information.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information at any time
• Object to how we process your information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

7. How to exercise your rights

Email us at info@lato-studio.co.za with the subject line “Privacy request”and we’ll respond within five working days.

8. Security

We protect your information through encrypted (HTTPS) connections, two-factor authentication on our accounts, and access controls limiting who can see your data. While no system is 100% secure, we follow industry best practice.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page with a new “Last updated” date.
